Quick Requirements Table
| Requirement | What you’ll prepare |
|---|---|
| Student ID | Copy of your college Student ID |
| Good Moral Character | Copy of your Certificate of Good Moral Character |
| College Grades | College grades starting from first year / Transcript of Records / Certificate of True Copy Grades |
| Enrollment Records | Certificate of Enrollment / Registration for both required terms or semesters |
| Leadership, Awards, or Seminars | Copies of your college certificates |
Copy of Student ID
You’ll need a copy of your Student ID.
Use the ID issued by the college or university where you’re enrolled.
Before submitting the copy, make sure your name, photo, and other important details are clearly readable.
Certificate of Good Moral Character
You’ll also need a copy of your Certificate of Good Moral Character.
This document supports another scholarship rule: you should have no record of disciplinary action.
Ask your university which office issues the certificate, since the process can differ from one school to another.
College Grades
Aboitiz Foundation lists:
Copy of College Grades starting 1st year / Transcript of Records / Certificate of True Copy Grades
These are different ways your school may provide an official record of your college grades.
You don’t need to prepare all three versions, follow whatever your university’s scholarship office asks for when you complete your application.
Your first-year college grades matter most, because you need a GPA or GWA of at least 88% or its equivalent.
GPA means Grade Point Average. GWA means General Weighted Average. Either term refers to your overall grade average.
You should also have no dropped subject, failing grade, or incomplete grade in any academic subject.
Certificate of Enrollment or Registration
You’ll need a copy of your Certificate of Enrollment or Registration for the 1st and 2nd Term/Semester of S.Y. 2025–2026.
Pay attention to the period stated in the requirement, you need enrollment or registration records covering both the first and second term or semester, not just one.
Certificates of College Leadership, Awards, or Seminars
You’ll also prepare copies of your college leadership, award, or seminar certificates.
These may include certificates you received for college activities, leadership roles, awards, or seminars.
The requirement specifically says college leadership, awards, and seminars, use records from your college years, not Senior High School.
Where to Get the Requirements
Most of these documents come from your university, or from records you already have.
| Requirement | Where to get or prepare it |
|---|---|
| Student ID | Your college or university |
| Certificate of Good Moral Character | The office your university assigns to issue it |
| College Grades | Your university’s records or Registrar office |
| Transcript of Records | Your university’s Registrar or records office |
| Certificate of True Copy Grades | Your university’s Registrar or records office |
| Certificate of Enrollment / Registration | Your university |
| Leadership Certificates | The organization, university office, or group that issued them |
| Award Certificates | The organization or university office that issued them |
| Seminar Certificates | The organizer that issued the certificate |
Applications are processed through the scholarship offices of Aboitiz Foundation’s partner universities, so follow your own university’s instructions if it gives you any.
How Long Does It Take to Get the Requirements?
Aboitiz Foundation doesn’t give one processing time for all five documents.
The waiting time can depend on your university, and whether you already have copies of the documents.
| Requirement | What may affect the waiting time |
|---|---|
| Student ID | Whether you already have your current ID |
| Good Moral Certificate | Your university’s issuing process |
| College Grades / TOR / True Copy Grades | Your school’s records process |
| Enrollment / Registration Records | Your university’s process |
| Leadership / Award / Seminar Certificates | Whether you already have your copies |
If you still need official school records, get those early, your university may need several days to prepare them.
How Much Do the Requirements Cost?
Aboitiz Foundation doesn’t publish one total cost for preparing these documents.
Your expenses may depend on:
- your university’s document fees;
- photocopying or printing;
- getting another copy of a certificate; and
- other personal document expenses.
Ask your university about the current fee before requesting a school document.
How to Prepare and Submit the Requirements
You’ll apply through the scholarship office of your partner university, not directly with Aboitiz Foundation.

Incoming freshmen can’t apply under the current eligibility rules.

Being enrolled in another university doesn’t qualify you under the current rules.

Not every degree program is covered.
Your university’s scholarship office can help confirm whether your course is included in the current application.

5. Request Your Certificate of Good Moral Character
Ask your university where to request this certificate.

Common Requirement Mistakes to Avoid
Applying as an Incoming Freshman
The scholarship is for incoming sophomore students. If you’re about to enter your first year of college, you’re not eligible under the current rules.
Applying From a Non-Partner University
You need to be enrolled in one of the Foundation’s partner universities.
Taking a Degree That Isn’t Included
Your degree also needs to be one of the programs identified by Aboitiz Foundation. Being in a partner school alone isn’t enough.
Missing the 88% Grade Requirement
You need a first-year college GPA or GWA of at least 88% or its equivalent.
Having a Dropped, Failed, or Incomplete Academic Subject
You should have no dropped subject, failing grade, or incomplete grade in any academic subject.
Forgetting One of Your Enrollment Periods
You need the Certificate of Enrollment or Registration for both the 1st and 2nd Term/Semester, not just one.
Forgetting Your College Achievement Certificates
Leadership, award, and seminar certificates are part of the documentary requirements.
Trying to Submit Directly to the Foundation Office
Personal application submission at the Aboitiz Foundation office isn’t accepted. Apply through the scholarship office of your partner university instead.
Waiting for an Exam Schedule
There’s no scholarship exam. If you’re shortlisted, the next step is the interview, not an exam.
